A detail of the face of Aaron the Kohen, from a painting in the possession of the Congregation.
This painting reputedly stood above the hechal in the original synagogue in Creechurch Lane, as Moses and Aaron act in it as heraldic supporters of the two tablets of the Law. The artist was Aaron de Chavez, a member of the congregation. The work is dated 1674.

Rev. Joseph Gomes de Mesquita, who had been choirmaster of the Snoga of Amsterdam,began to work for the congregation in 1914, until his retirement in 1948.

Memorial tablet inscribed in memory of Haham Benjamin Artom, the Spiritual Leader of the Spanish and Portuguese Jews.
He arrived in London from Naples in 1866. He passed away unexpectedly on 6 January 1879, after a few hour's illness while visiting Brighton.

Heneage Lane is clearly visible. The demarcation of the City Wall can be clearly seen, which ran along what is now Houndsditch. The synagogue is located within the Ward of Aldgate.
